Since there are approximately 40 million waterskiers worldwide it is amazing that The Secret Spot is the first comprehensive inland water sports documentary ever produced. The film features athletes from slalom, barefoot, trick, Sky ski, wakesurf and wakeboard events. The power and artistry of the athletes is captured in 1080i high definition format that reveals every straining muscle and cascading spray of water. The river cuts through 300 foot cliffs that shelter the river from winds and provide skiers with year round water that is smooth as glass. This particular river has been ranked as one of the top water skiing sites in the U.S. All of the featured athletes agreed to be filmed only if the location was kept secret.
Gavin and Curtis Callaway, and David Barrow collaborted to produce, direct, film, and edit this film. Cast includes Mike Seipel, two time World Champion Barefooter, Michelle Simpson, 2003 World Championships slalom bronze medalist, and more. In all, it features three world champions, four national champions, ten regional champions, and a bunch of river rats.
This film won the Audience Award at the Deep Ellum Film Festival.
At the Secret Spot web site you'll find the movie trailer, information about the shoot, bios, athlete information, soundtrack, and a store so you can purchase the movie, soundtrack and poster.
Note from About.com Guide:
I enjoyed watching this film full of action blended in with a soundtrack matching hard core boat towed sports. The high definition format really brings it to life and makes you feel like you are actually in the tow boat watching the action first hand. "The Secret Spot" will inspire you to get out there with your friends and family and find your own secluded get away on the water.
