"Waterskiing - Getting Off the Ground"

Author Mark Soloman has written this book in a manner that makes it easy to understand. He breaks the book down into four sections; Beginner, Advanced, Driver, and Slalom.

The Beginner section covers basic water-skiing fundamentals, getting up on your skis, safety, driver assistance, and tubing. The Advanced section includes information on crossing the wakes, dock starts, spotter information, and kneeboarding. The Driver section highlights motorboat skills, including driving the boat, and boat terminology. The Slalom section outlines in detail how to drop a water ski, deep water slalom starts, crossing the wake on a slalom ski and how to throw a spray.

Each section has a Review with questions to test the reader. Answers are supplied in the back of the book.

"Waterskiing - Getting Off the Ground"

"Waterskiing - Getting Off the Ground" is an excellent teaching tool for the first time water-skier or those looking to refresh their skills. Someone who has never been waterskiing before can read this book and walk away with all the necessary basic knowledge to plunge into the sport comfortably. A skill sheet is included in the back of the book so the skier can check off skills as they advance. This is just one book from the "Getting Off the Ground" instructional watersports series. Other books in the series include "Sailing's a Breeze" and "Paddle to Perfection." Soloman, along with his brother Gary, founded in 1989 Aquatics Unlimited, which is a water sport education organization offering hands-on training in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water-skiing, windsurfing, and rowing.
