Inboard

From , former About.com Guide

Definition: A boat in which the engine is inside the hull at the center of the boat. With an inboard engine the propeller is underneath the boat.
Pronunciation: 'in-"bord
Common Misspellings: Enbord, Inbord, Enboard
Examples: Slalom water-skiers prefer to ski behind inboard boats because with the propeller coming out of the bottom of the boat a smaller wake is created. This is in contrast to an outboard boat where the boat engine hangs off the back of the boat.
