How to Find People to Ski / Wakeboard With

Here's how to go about finding other people to go waterskiing / wakeboarding with. You may not have to own a boat after all.

Here's How:

     
  1. Post your search on the About.com Waterski / Wakeboard Forum in the "Looking for a Ski Buddy" folder. Post on any other forums / bulletin boards you may find as well.
  2. Post your search on the rec.sport.waterski newsgroup.
  3. Join a local waterski club.
  4. Contact a local waterski school. They may be able to put you in touch with other skiers.
  5. Ask the folks who work at the marinas. They see who leaves the docks with ski equipment.
  6. Check out the folks at the boat launch ramps.
  7. Ask the people at near-by pro shops if they know of anyone who would be interested.
  8. Participate in a waterskiing / wakeboarding online discussion lists.
  9. Go to waterski / wakeboard tournaments. They are a great way to meet others who share your same interests.
  10. Register on SportsMatchOnline - www.sportsmatchonline.com, to find others with your same interests.

Tips:

     
  1. If you do not have a boat of your own, always offer to pitch in gas money.
  2. Try to get to know people a little before agreeing right away to go boating with them. They may end up being people who you would not normally hang out with.
