No More Human Pyramids for Wakesurfing

By November 30, 2012

If you love wakesurfing as much as I do, you're probably well aware of the ongoing game of musical chairs that you must play in order to get the perfect wave. A typical day of wakesurfing involves enlisting as many friends as you possibly can -- even calling up long lost aunts and uncles -- just to get a few more pounds in the boat. Then, when everyone is loaded up, you have them all pile into one corner while one or two people hang off of the wake tower, trying desperately to shove the boat deeper into the water.

Then finally once you have achieved the ultimate wave, it's time to switch sides so the goofy footed riders can have the same wave. At which you hear a painful sigh of exasperation as your friends and family begrudgingly switch to the right side of the boat.

Well, at long last Malibu boats has developed a piece of equipment that will prevent you from having to annoy all of your fellow boating compatriots. It's called Surf Gate™, and it looks amazing. Surf Gate™ is an automatic wake shaping tool which will mount on the back of the new 2013 Malibu line of Wakesetters. It allows boat drivers to switch from mellow surfing wave to epic wake in a matter of seconds, all while your loved ones stay seated in one spot.

If your curiosity is peaked check out the website, and I will report back as soon as I've had a chance to test this system out.
