Repairing Water Ski Boots

Monday March 21, 2005
An About.com Waterskiing / Wakeboarding Site Visitor Writes:

"Do you have a link or information on how to best repair water ski boots. Specifically, one of the most common rips is to the front tongue of a water ski boot - usually along the line of/between the finger holes (caused by the constant pulling on of the boot). There must be a way to repair them that is reliable and can help you keep your costs down."

Does anyone have suggestions? If so pleast post them to this forum thread.

Yes, there is a way to repair tears in water ski boots (I had to for my double high wraps). I used the thin neoprene dry suit booty material. I cut it to fit and used a moister resistant adhesive to bond the parts together. I clamped everything for 24 hours to make sure of a good bond. I haven’t had a problem since. Loctite also has a product that works very well and it’s moister activated!
